The greatest Dwarf-smith of the First Age, from the city of Nogrod in the Blue Mountains. He forged Narsil (the sword of Elendil, later reforged as Anduril for Aragorn), Angrist (the knife Beren used to cut a Silmaril from Morgoth's crown), and the Dragon-helm of Dor-lomin.
