Lord of the Dwarves of Belegost in the First Age. In the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, his Dwarves alone could withstand the dragon Glaurung, for their mail was fire-resistant. Azaghal wounded Glaurung with a knife before being crushed, forcing the dragon to retreat.
