The Ring of Barahir was an heirloom of the House of Beor and after of the line of Isildur: a ring wrought in Valinor in the likeness of two serpents with eyes of emerald, their heads meeting beneath a crown of golden flowers. Finrod Felagund gave it to Barahir in token of an oath of abiding friendship, after Barahir saved his life in the Dagor Bragollach. It passed through Beren and down the kings of Numenor and Arnor to become the chief heirloom of the Chieftains of the Dunedain; Elrond kept it for Aragorn until he came of age, and with it Aragorn and Arwen were betrothed.
