Also known as: The North-Kingdom, The North Kingdom
The northern realm of the Dúnedain, founded by Elendil himself after the Downfall, with its capital at Annúminas beside Lake Evendim. Arnor was later divided among rival heirs into Arthedain, Cardolan, and Rhudaur, and the long war against the Witch-king of Angmar destroyed them all; the last king, Arvedui, drowned in the ice-bay of Forochel. Yet the line of kings never failed: it continued unbroken through the Chieftains of the Dúnedain — wandering Rangers in the lands their fathers ruled — down to Aragorn, who restored the kingdom at last.
