Also known as: Elendil The Faithful, High King
Lord of the Faithful Numenoreans who opposed the corruption of Ar-Pharazon and Sauron. When Numenor was destroyed, Elendil escaped with his sons and followers in nine ships, bearing the palantiri, the White Tree's seedling, and other heirlooms. He founded the kingdoms of Arnor and Gondor in Middle-earth. He forged the Last Alliance with Gil-galad and together they besieged Sauron in Barad-dur for seven years. Elendil was slain by Sauron on the slopes of Mount Doom, and his sword Narsil broke beneath him as he fell. He was the ancestor of Aragorn and one of the greatest of Men.
