Also known as: Chieftain Of The Dunedain
The fifteenth Chieftain of the Dunedain of the North and father of Aragorn. He married Gilraen and their son Aragorn was born in the year 2931 of the Third Age. Only two years later, Arathorn was slain by an Orc arrow while riding with the sons of Elrond. His early death left Aragorn fatherless and set in motion the chain of events that brought the boy to Rivendell. Arathorn bore the shards of Narsil and the heirlooms of the House of Isildur, which were passed to Aragorn when he came of age.
