Younger son of Elendil and co-founder of Gondor with his brother Isildur. He defended Minas Anor against Sauron while Isildur escaped to the North to seek Elendil. He was slain during the Siege of Barad-dur by a stone cast from the tower. His line continued through the kings and stewards of Gondor.
