Arwen Undomiel

Also known as: Evenstar Of Her People

Daughter of Elrond and Celebrian, and the fairest living being in Middle-earth at the end of the Third Age, often compared to her ancestress Luthien Tinuviel. Arwen was born in the year 241 of the Third Age and lived for nearly three thousand years in Rivendell and Lothlorien. She met Aragorn when he was a young man of twenty, newly told of his heritage, and they fell in love in Lothlorien years later. Like Luthien before her, Arwen chose mortality for the sake of love, forsaking her immortal life and the company of her father to wed Aragorn after his victory in the War of the Ring. She became Queen of the Reunited Kingdom and bore Aragorn a son, Eldarion, and several daughters. After Aragorn's death, Arwen went alone to the fading woods of Lothlorien, now empty of its people, and there she laid herself down upon Cerin Amroth and died, the last echo of Luthien's choice.
