The Golden Wood east of the Misty Mountains, fairest dwelling of Elves remaining in Middle-earth, where the mallorn trees bear golden leaves through winter and time itself seems to flow otherwise. Galadriel and Celeborn ruled it long in secrecy, its power upheld unseen by Nenya, Galadriel's Ring. The Fellowship rested there after Moria, received their cloaks, gifts, and lembas, and looked into the Mirror of Galadriel. Treebeard called it Laurelindórenan, the Valley of Singing Gold; with the Ring's destruction and Galadriel's departure, its glory faded as she had foretold.
