Also known as: The City Of The Trees
Caras Galadhon, the City of the Trees, was the chief dwelling of the Galadhrim in Lothlorien: a great green hill ringed with a wall and a moat, upon and within whose mighty mallorn-trees the Elves built their flets and halls high among the golden leaves, lit at night with countless lamps of silver and gold. At its crown, in the greatest of the trees, dwelt Celeborn and Galadriel, Lord and Lady of the Golden Wood. Thither the Fellowship were brought after the loss of Gandalf in Moria, and looked upon the fairest of all the dwellings of the Elves that remained in Middle-earth.
