Lord of Waters, King of the Sea, and one of the mightiest of the Valar. Ulmo dwells not in Valinor but in the deeps of the Outer Sea, and his presence runs through all the waters of the world, from the great oceans to the smallest streams. He is the Vala most concerned with the fate of the peoples of Middle-earth and often acts independently of the council of the Valar to aid them. He appeared to Tuor and sent him to Gondolin with a message for King Turgon, and he guided Earendil on his voyage to Valinor. Ulmo's music is woven into the sound of water everywhere, and those who listen closely to streams and rivers may hear echoes of his voice.
