Also known as: Namo
The Doomsman of the Valar, Judge of the Dead, and keeper of the Houses of the Dead where the spirits of slain Elves and Men await their fate. Mandos knows all that shall come to pass, save only those things that Iluvatar has not revealed. He pronounced the Doom of the Noldor (the Prophecy of the North) upon Feanor and his followers when they departed Valinor in rebellion. He is stern and unmoved by pity, yet he was swayed once: by the song of Luthien, who came before him to plead for the return of Beren from death. His spouse is Vaire the Weaver, who weaves the story of the world into her tapestries that adorn his halls.
