Prince of Dol Amroth and lord of Belfalas, a region of southern Gondor. He was of high Numenorean blood with a strain of Elven ancestry. He led the swan-knights of Dol Amroth to the defense of Minas Tirith and was one of the greatest captains of the War of the Ring. He ruled Minas Tirith temporarily after Denethor's death and Faramir's wounding.
