A Sindarin smith of great skill who lived in the forest of Nan Elmoth. He forged the black swords Anglachel and Anguirel from a fallen meteorite. He married Aredhel under dubious circumstances and fathered Maeglin. When they fled to Gondolin, Eol followed and killed Aredhel. Turgon executed him by casting him from the walls of Gondolin.
