Also known as: Dior, Eluchil, Dior Thingol's Heir, Dior The Beautiful
Dior Eluchil, Thingol's Heir, was the son of Beren and Luthien, born in the wild land of Tol Galen after their return from the dead, and the first being in whom the bloods of Elves, Men, and Maiar were joined. After the passing of his parents he came to Doriath and was acknowledged King, restoring for a while its ruined glory; and he wore the Nauglamir set with his mother's Silmaril. When the sons of Feanor demanded the jewel and he refused them, they fell upon Doriath in the Second Kinslaying. Dior slew Celegorm but was himself slain, and his realm was destroyed -- yet his daughter Elwing escaped with the Silmaril, bearing the hope of the world to the Havens of Sirion.
