The Nauglamir

Also known as: The Necklace Of The Dwarves

The Necklace of the Dwarves, made in the First Age by the craftsmen of Nogrod and Belegost for Finrod Felagund, fairest of their works in that age: a collar of gold set with gems that lay light as flax and lovely on every throat. Húrin brought it from the ruin of Nargothrond to Thingol, who desired the Dwarves to remake it about the Silmaril of Beren and Lúthien. Jewel and necklace together kindled fatal desire: Thingol was slain over it in Menegroth, and from that deed flowed the sack of Doriath. Lúthien wore it after, and the land where she dwelt became the fairest vision east of the sea.
