Also known as: The Isle Of Werewolves, Tol Sirion
Tol-in-Gaurhoth, the Isle of Werewolves, was an island in the river Sirion that had once held the fair Elvish watchtower of Minas Tirith, built by Finrod Felagund and kept by his brother Orodreth to guard the pass into Beleriand. Sauron, then the chief servant of Morgoth, took it by storm and made it a place of dread, filling it with werewolves and foul spirits and ruling it as the Dark Lord's lieutenant. There Finrod and Beren were cast into the pits, and there Finrod died; until Luthien and the great hound Huan came and overthrew Sauron, freed the captives, and threw down its tower.
