Also known as: The Red Arrow Of Gondor
The Red Arrow was an ancient token of Gondor, an arrow black-feathered and barbed with red steel, sent to the King of Rohan only in the uttermost need as a summons to fulfil the Oath of Eorl and ride to Gondor's aid. In the War of the Ring the errand-rider Hirgon bore it from Denethor to Theoden at Edoras; and at the sight of it the king called the full muster of the Riddermark, and the host of Rohan rode south to the relief of Minas Tirith and the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.
