The Crown Of Gondor

Also known as: The Winged Crown

The Crown of Gondor was the silver helm-crown of the Kings of the South-kingdom, shaped after the war-helm of the ancient kings but heightened and made fair: white, with wings wrought like the wings of a sea-bird in token of the line of Elendil come over the sea, set with seven gems of adamant and a single great jewel at its crest. It lay in the Hallows beside the tomb of Earnur, the last king, through all the long centuries of the Stewards. At his coronation Aragorn took it, and in the old manner had Frodo bear it and Gandalf set it upon his head.
