Herugrim was the ancient sword of the Kings of Rohan, the blade of Theoden, that had lain long sheathed and idle while the king sat in shadow under the whispers of Wormtongue and the malice of Saruman. When Gandalf freed Theoden's clouded mind at the door of the Golden Hall, the sword was brought to his hand again; and grasping it the king felt his old strength return, and led his people once more to war.
