The Field of Celebrant was the green land between the rivers Silverlode and Limlight, south of Lothlorien, the site of a battle that changed the history of two realms. There, when a host of Easterlings had overrun the northern provinces of a failing Gondor, Eorl the Young came riding out of the North with the cavalry of his people at the very hour of need and broke the enemy utterly. In reward Gondor granted the Riders the land of Calenardhon, which became Rohan, and the Oath of Eorl was sworn binding the two peoples in alliance.
