Also known as: The Haven Of Pelargir
Pelargir was the great and ancient port of Gondor upon the lower Anduin above its delta, oldest of the Numenorean havens in Middle-earth and chief harbour of the realm. There in the War of the Ring the Corsairs of Umbar gathered their black fleet to fall upon Gondor from the river. But Aragorn came by the Paths of the Dead and the Stone of Erech, and led the Sleepless Dead to Pelargir, where they swept the Corsairs from their decks in terror; and with the freed men of the southern fiefs Aragorn manned the captured ships and sailed up Anduin to the relief of Minas Tirith.
