Mithlond, the Elven harbor on the Gulf of Lune, ruled by Círdan the Shipwright since the beginning of the Second Age. From its quays the Elves of Middle-earth take ship into the West, never to return. It was there that Círdan gave Narya, the Ring of Fire, to Gandalf at his landing — and there, at the end of the Third Age, that Frodo and Bilbo boarded the white ship with Gandalf, Elrond, and Galadriel, watched from the shore by Sam, Merry, and Pippin.
