Also known as: Lord Of The Grey Havens
One of the oldest Elves in Middle-earth, Cirdan is a Telerin Elf who had waited on the shores of Beleriand to sail west but was left behind. He built the Havens of Sirion in the First Age and the Grey Havens (Mithlond) in the Second and Third Ages. He bore Narya, the Ring of Fire, but gave it to Gandalf upon the wizard's arrival, perceiving his true nature and mission. Cirdan built the last ship that carried the Ring-bearers and the keepers of the Three Rings into the West at the end of the Third Age. He is one of the few Elves described as having a beard, a sign of his immense age.
