Baragund was the son of Bregolas of the House of Beor and the father of Morwen Eledhwen, who would wed Hurin Thalion and bear Turin Turambar and Nienor. After the Dagor Bragollach he was one of the twelve faithful companions who held out with his kinsman Barahir in the highlands of Dorthonion, harrying the servants of Morgoth. Betrayed at last by Gorlim, the band was surprised at their camp by Tarn Aeluin, and Baragund was slain with them.
