Also known as: Kingsfoil
A healing herb brought to Middle-earth by the Númenóreans, called kingsfoil by country folk who knew it only as a weed with a wholesome smell. Its full virtue wakes only in the hands of the king — as the herb-master of Minas Tirith recited without understanding: The hands of the king are the hands of a healer, and so shall the rightful king be known. Aragorn used it against the Morgul-wound on Weathertop, and in the Houses of Healing he called back Faramir, Éowyn, and Merry from the Black Breath — and the city knew its king had returned.
