Also known as: Fram Son Of Frumgar
A lord of the Eotheod, the northern horse-people who would later become the Rohirrim, and the slayer of the dragon Scatha the Worm. By killing the great cold-drake of the Grey Mountains Fram won its hoard — and a quarrel: the Dwarves of that region claimed the treasure as anciently theirs. Fram's answer was to send them the teeth of Scatha strung as a necklace, with the message that such jewels they would not match in their hoards, for they were hard to come by. The Dwarves, unamused, are said to have slain him for the insult. Part of the hoard came south with Eorl's people; the silver horn that Eowyn gave to Merry — the horn that raised the Shire — was Scatha's gold, of Fram's winning.
