Sister of King Theoden of Rohan and mother of Eomer and Eowyn. She married Eomund, the Chief Marshal of the Mark, and they lived in the Eastfold. When Eomund was slain pursuing Orcs, Theodwyn fell ill with grief and died shortly after, leaving her two young children orphaned. Theoden took them into his own household and raised them as his own. Her early death shaped both her children profoundly: Eomer's fierce hatred of Orcs and Eowyn's sense of vulnerability and longing for honor both trace back to the loss of their parents.
