Also known as: Vorondil The Hunter
Vorondil the Hunter was a Steward of Gondor in the early days of the Ruling Stewards, and father of Mardil Voronwe, the first of the Stewards to rule in the King's stead. He was renowned for his great hunts upon the plains of Rhun in the far East; and it was Vorondil who slew there one of the wild white kine, descended (it was said) from the Kine of Araw, and of its horn was fashioned the Horn of Gondor that the heirs of the Stewards bore ever after.
