Tar-Palantir

Also known as: Inziladun

The twenty-fourth King of Numenor and the last to rule righteously before the final corruption. His name in Adunaic was Inziladun, and he took the Quenya title Tar-Palantir (meaning 'Far-sighted') as a sign of his repentance. He sought to restore the worship of the Valar and the care of the White Tree, and he prophesied that when the Tree died, the line of the kings would also end. His daughter was the rightful heir Tar-Miriel, but his nephew Pharazon usurped the throne. Tar-Palantir spent his last years in grief, climbing to the tower of Avallone to look westward toward Valinor, mourning the faithlessness of his people.
