Second son of Feanor and the greatest singer among the Noldor. Maglor was gentler than his brothers, and after the attack on the Havens of Sirion, he took pity on the young Elrond and Elros and raised them. After the War of Wrath, he seized one of the recovered Silmarils, but it burned his hand, and he cast it into the sea. According to legend, Maglor wanders the shores of the world forever, singing in grief and pain, and never returned to Valinor.
