Also known as: Bullroarer, Bullroarer Took, The Bullroarer
Bandobras Took, called the Bullroarer, was a Hobbit of legendary size -- four foot five, and able to ride a horse -- and a hero of Shire-lore. In the Battle of Greenfields he led the Hobbits against a band of Orcs that had invaded the North-farthing, and with his club struck the head clean off their leader, the goblin Golfimbul; the head flew through the air and down a rabbit-hole, and so, the tale merrily claims, the game of golf was invented at that same stroke. A great-grand-uncle of Bilbo, he remained the tallest Hobbit known until Merry and Pippin drank of the Ent-draughts.
