Hobbits

Marcho And Blanco

Marcho and Blanco were two Hobbit brothers of the Fallohide kind who, in the year 1601 of the Third Age, led the first great migration of Hobbits west over the river Baranduin into the green and empty land that became the Shire. They had the leave of Argeleb II, King of Arthedain, who asked in return only that they keep the bridges and roads in repair and acknowledge his lordship. From the year of their crossing the Shire-folk reckoned all their days, in the count they called the Shire Reckoning.
