Also known as: The Haven Of The Swans, The Swanhaven
Alqualonde, the Haven of the Swans, was the chief city and harbour of the Teleri upon the coasts of Aman north of the Calacirya, built of pearl and lit with many lamps, its ships fashioned in the likeness of swans. There befell the first and most grievous of the Kinslayings: when the Teleri would not yield up their ships to the rebellious Noldor, Feanor and his folk fell upon them and slew them and seized the swan-ships by force. The stain of that kindred-blood was a chief cause of the Doom of the Noldor pronounced upon them as they departed.
