Galdor, called the Tall, was the son of Hador Lorindol and lord of Dor-lomin after him, holding that land in fief of the House of Fingolfin. He wedded Hareth of the Haladin, and their sons were Hurin Thalion and Huor -- and so he was grandfather of Turin Turambar, of Nienor, and of Tuor, father of Earendil. Galdor fell at the Siege of Eithel Sirion, struck by an arrow as he defended the fortress at the outset of the Dagor Bragollach, and the lordship of Dor-lomin passed to his son Hurin.
