Ilmare was a Maia of Valinor, named as the handmaid of Varda, Lady of the Stars, and counted chief among the spirits that served the Queen of the Valar -- even as Eonwe, the banner-bearer and herald of Manwe, was chief among his. Little is told of her deeds; she dwells among the great ones of Aman, in the starlight that Varda kindled.
