The sword of Fingolfin, High King of the Noldor, that glittered like ice. When the Siege of Angband broke, Fingolfin rode alone to Morgoth's gate in a fury of despair and challenged the Dark Lord to single combat — and with Ringil he wounded Morgoth seven times before he was beaten down, hewing the foot of the Black King as a last stroke. Morgoth limped from that wound ever after; no other hand in all the wars dealt him such hurt.
