A Marshal of the Riddermark and lord of Grimslade in Rohan. He fought at the First and Second Battles of the Fords of Isen, where he defended the crossing against Saruman's forces with great courage after Theodred's death. At the Second Fords, he rallied the survivors and held the retreat. He rode with the Rohirrim to the Pelennor Fields and was slain there in the great battle. A mound was raised over him and the other fallen Rohirrim on the field.
